Eaton County's Oldest Village

Spray Foam Insulation in Bellevue covers the older homes in the village and the farms around it. Bellevue was founded in 1833 by Captain Reuben Fitzgerald, a War of 1812 veteran, and was the first town in Eaton County and its first county seat, until Charlotte took that role.

Built on limestone

A large limestone bed on the west side of the village has been mined for more than a century and supplied stone for the Michigan State Capitol. Some older buildings and foundations in the area use local stone, and stone foundations leak air at the sill in ways that spray foam handles better than batts or board.

Village housing

Bellevue had 1,308 residents at the 2020 census, and the 2010 census counted 575 housing units. Many homes are old frame houses with shallow attics and empty walls.

What we do here

In a typical Bellevue house, we seal and insulate the attic, spray closed-cell foam on the rim and sill, and dense-pack the walls if the owner wants them filled. Barns and shops on surrounding farms get closed-cell foam on the steel.

Older foundations

Where a house sits on fieldstone or uneven stone, the sill is often full of gaps. Foam follows the irregular surface and seals it in one pass.

Pipes in cold snaps

When the temperature drops well below zero, pipes near a leaky sill or in an uninsulated crawl space can freeze. Foam at the sill and on the crawl space walls is one of the most reliable fixes, and it often costs less than people expect for a small house.
